I’ll never forget the day I was handed my very first set of solid ceramic flat irons. I was almost instantly transformed from awkward, frizzy-haired teenager to straight and shiny goddess (well, that’s what I like to think anyway!). Since then I’ve had a whole lot of straighteners and learnt oodles about what makes the best ceramic flat iron. And today I thought I’d share a few tips so that you can choose the best straightener for your hair.

Ceramic flat irons have been the gold standard in both professional and home hair straightening for almost two decades, ever since the first chi ceramic flat iron hit the market and revolutionized hair styling forever.
Even though you can now get titanium straightening irons and ceramic tourmaline flat irons, ceramic is still one of the best materials for effective hair straightening because it gets super hot, distributes heat evenly and conducts frizz-fighting negative ions.
