My Verdict:
I give this straightener 4.5 out of 5 stars. I’m totally sold on titanium being the best conductor of negative ions – so it’s a great choice if you have a battle with frizz! I also love that it’s so versatile and great for curling as well as straightening. The only things which let it down for me are that some reviewers say it’s not great for people with coarse or thick hair and I really do wish it had an auto shut-off feature! In my opinion (and that of lots of other stylists!) these are the best Babyliss straighteners and beat the BaByliss wet and dry and the (kind of cheap!) Pro Porcelain hands down.
The Price:
Babyliss flat iron prices tend to fluctuate between $100 and $150, which is comparable with Chi and Bio Ionic Professional flat irons.

Titanium plates are the latest advance in hair straightener technology. While I always advise against going for metal plates and recommend ceramic to anyone who asks, titanium is different. This metal is the best-known conductor of negative ions. These charged oxygen atoms neutralize the positive ions which cause frizz. What about the Heat?

Good for Your Type?
This straightener is ideal for fine or thin hair in short or medium lengths. Reviewers say that these are not the best Babyliss straighteners for thick hair, especially if you want to use them to curl. They are so small that it would take a really long time to work through a mane of thick hair. If you still want the Babyliss style and quality, I’d recommend the Babyliss pro curling tongs for curling. There are a one and a half inch plate option for the Babyliss pro nano titanium flat iron, which would be better for straightening thick hair but not so good for curling.
Will it Travel?
The Babyliss pro voltage is 120v, meaning that it’s made for use in the U.S. If you want to use it in the United Kingdom or Europe, you will need an adaptor. And, just while we’re talking about all things electrical, it’s worth noting that these straighteners do not have an auto shut-off function, which could be an issue if you’re prone to the occasional memory lapse.

PROS:
- It gets really hot, really fast.
- The narrow plates are awesome for curling as well as waving.
- It doesn’t grab or pull at my hair.
CONS:
- The packaging seems a bit cheap and crappy and there’s no storage or travel pouch like some brands have.
- When it’s turned off, there’s a gap between the plates but this disappears when you heat the plates up.
So, in terms of the job it does on my hair (and I guess that’s the bit that matters!) the nano titanium Babyliss pro flat iron is an awesome straightener. It just leaves a little bit to be desired in the packaging and presentation department!
